As the brand continued to scale globally, Kencko partnered with us to redesign & rebuild its ecommerce experience on Shopify 2.0 creating a faster, more flexible storefront that balanced educational storytelling with commercial performance.
Kencko's products are built around science. Using flash-freezing & slow-drying technology, the brand preserves the nutrients, fiber, & flavor of fresh produce without relying on additives or refined sugars.
As the product range expanded, the existing storefront needed to do more than simply showcase products. It needed to educate customers about the science behind plant-based nutrition, support a growing subscription business, & provide the flexibility to launch new campaigns quickly without sacrificing performance.
The goal was to build a Shopify 2.0 storefront that delivered the speed & scalability expected from a modern ecommerce experience while making complex nutritional information easy to understand.
The first challenge was performance.
As a rapidly growing global brand, Kencko needed a storefront that loaded quickly across every device while remaining flexible enough for the internal team to continuously update content, merchandising, & campaigns.
The second challenge was education. Plant-based nutrition can be complex, & customers needed a clearer understanding of how each product supports different wellness goals without overwhelming them with scientific information.
Finally, the team wanted to increase average order value by creating a more intelligent purchasing journey that encouraged subscriptions, product discovery, & complementary purchases without adding friction to checkout.
We rebuilt Kencko's storefront on Shopify 2.0 around three core principles: performance, education, & conversion.
A Shopify 2.0 foundation built for speed
The new storefront was developed using a lightweight custom Shopify 2.0 theme engineered for performance. Advanced image optimization, code splitting, caching strategies, & modular architecture deliver fast load times while providing the flexibility to launch new content, campaigns, & merchandising experiences without developer support.
Product pages that educate
We redesigned the product detail pages to simplify the science behind every product. Functional benefits such as energy, digestion, immunity, & gut health are introduced through clear content hierarchy, custom icons, ingredient highlights, & educational storytelling that helps customers quickly understand how each product fits into their wellness routine.
Rather than overwhelming visitors with technical information, the experience presents nutritional science in a way that's approachable, visually engaging, & easy to digest.
Optimized for higher order values
The purchasing journey was redesigned to encourage larger baskets while maintaining a frictionless checkout experience. Personalized product recommendations, dynamic cart merchandising, complementary product suggestions, & subscription-first purchasing help customers discover more of the Kencko ecosystem while naturally increasing average order value.

Beyond launch, the new theme gives the Kencko team a scalable platform capable of supporting future product launches, international growth, & ongoing experimentation. Every component was designed to be modular, reusable, & optimized for continuous iteration.
The rebuilt Shopify storefront delivered significant improvements across both customer experience & commercial performance.
The combination of a faster Shopify 2.0 architecture, more educational product pages, & an optimized purchasing journey contributed to a 33% increase in mobile conversion rate & a 36% increase in overall conversion rate.
At the same time, the modular theme architecture reduced the team's reliance on external development resources, contributing to a 25% reduction in agency costs while giving Kencko greater flexibility to launch new campaigns, update content, & continue optimizing the customer experience as the business grows.
